I was introduced to Long Beach State baseball in 2002 when my nephew, Neil Jamison, joined the team (and university) as a freshman. I started the blog in March of 2004, and generally discuss the team, current players and those that have moved on to professional baseball - as Neil has done in the San Diego Padres organization. Living in San Diego County, and with Neil moving to the next level, I won't be attending as many Dirtbags games. But, mostly from a distance, I'll remain a Dirtbags fan. Sean Boatright's Hitting Streak At 23 Games  Sean Boatright's Big West Conference top hitting streak ran to 23 games Sunday, moving him into 4th place all-time for Long Beach State (passing Paul Day and Jason Berni, who both had 22 game streaks in 1998). He's closing in on Todd Guggiani, who hit in 27 straight in 1989, and all time leaders Todd Jennings (2003) and Rob Townley (1979) - both at 28 games. Sean is hitting .312 on the season, with a .359 on base percentage and .411 slugging percentage. He's hit 11 doubles and 1 homerun, and leads the team in runs batted in at 24. Boat has not committed an error on the year.
