Dirtbags Land Catcher Jordan Struble In Transfer From State Champion Saddleback College (JUCO)

Jordan Struble, a 6'0" 205 lbs. catcher/outfielder, has transfered to Long Beach State after two years with the Saddleback College Gauchos. According to the Saddleback College webpage "Struble started all 41 games for the Gauchos [in 2004], getting most of those starts behind the plate as the team's everyday catcher. He batted .356 with 11 doubles, one triple, and nine home runs." Saddleback (29-12) won the California community college state championship in last May.

Jordan hit .283 in 99 at bats, with 17 RPI, for the Alaska Goldpanners this summer. Here's his bio from the Goldpanners webpage:

HIGH SCHOOL: 4-year Elsinore Tigers varsity starter for 3 different head coaches (Steve Waldroff, Jaime Barker and Dusty Brinley)...career batting average of .424...3-time First Team All-League at catcher (3 different leagues due to re-alignment)...earned All-CIF and All-County honors his senior year...2-time team MVP and Captain...3-year varsity starter in football as a linebacker and tight end...First Team All-League selection at linebacker...team was Runner-Up in the 2000 CIF Finals...Co-Captain his senior year.

Thanks for the info on Tom Sarti. I'll see what I can find and post on his transfer. As far as I know, Tito Cruz will be back. Tito caught a few games last year, and also spent some time in the infield. The roster last year included Chris Jones (who will be a junior this year). As I recall, Chris had a few pinch hit appearances, but I don't think he caught any games. David Chamberlain was a freshman listed as a catcher last year, but I don't believe he saw any playing time. I have not heard that either Chris or David have left. If anyone knows differently, let us know.
